Renderlounge is proud to be the technical hand behind the development of the online interactive Sirah map of Makkah during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The map developed covers 3 Km x 3Km . This is the first dimensionally accurate map of historical locations thanks to a decade’s worth work of Mr. Abdul Aziz (Bin Imad) Al-Ateeqi.
The landmarks and the terrain textures are made accurate as per the actual terrain around the area at that time. The models of the houses and marketplaces were developed after careful consideration and study of numerous historical records from both religious and military manuscripts.
The latest version of the map that is driven towards Sirah Metaverse is now being developed with improved terrain from satellite imagery and accurate locations for properties. The best part is it is now being developed with Unreal Engine hence making the experience a truly realtime experience with endless future opportunities to grow the Metaverse further.
The Makkah Map includes detailed text descriptions, voice narrations, and 3D animations of more than 37 geographic features and 117 topographic landmarks – including homes, markets, wells, and other features of the city as it existed during the lifetime of Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ).
The current version of the map is available on the following link, however the newer version is currently being developed on Unreal Engine.
